Study the Story
As you read Chapter 13 of The Story during the week, we see how the Lord is faithful in his abundant in his physical blessings to us. Solomon teaches us that, like all of God’s blessings, these are undeserved but can quickly fade. And so, we focus on the one thing needful, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
1. What do you see in God’s heart by the way he responds to Solomon’s request for wisdom?
2. As you read through the Proverbs on pp. 179-183 in The Story, write down two or three things that have special meaning or significance to you. Why did you choose those?
3. What stands out as the most important events in the building and dedication of the temple as you read through the various descriptions of what happened?
4. What personal lesson or warning do you see in the downfall of Solomon?
